Pharaoh's First Christmas

Finally! It is done! This version looks so much better than the actual art piece. I had to define the snowflakes, fix a few pencil mishaps, saturate and add in a little cute blush for effect. There are a few hard edges here that I couldn't get rid of sadly without making it look fake. I wanted it to keep its drawing look.
Many people keep asking me what the story is here... It isn't hard. Pharaoh's first Christmas? Yami is Egyptian. There is no such thing as snow in a desert. He's never seen a bird such as a cardinal. Instead of him being Yugi's guide, Yugi is the king's guide. Yami's have to learn from aibous sometimes!
I am rather proud of this... It is my first full color piece. 11.75x14in, 60lbs paper, and prismacolor pencils. The design of this took at least 3 hours, the lineart at least 6, the coloring... at least 120 hours... possibly more, then photoshopping took about an hour. I used up most of the colors used that were in the 96 pack of prismas, brazing... oh brazing! Free-handed with a bit of ref!
I really hope my friend likes it. It's being sent off this weekend with a few other goodies that I know she'll love. Merry Christmas to my aibou of my own! I really hope you like it.
